Plans are meant to be moved between. Upgrading for more stamina, or downgrading out of a plan that's more than you need, is a normal part of hosting — and your website and email come with you.
Start with the right reason
Before upgrading, make sure the plan is actually the limit. A slow site is usually fixed by optimisation, not a bigger plan; repeatedly hitting resource limits is the honest reason to move up. The Shared vs VPS guide helps you pick the right step.
How to change your plan
- Log into the client area.
- Open Services and find your hosting product.
- Look for an Upgrade/Downgrade option on the product. If you don't see one, contact support — plan changes are regular requests and our team handles them routinely.
- Confirm the target plan. The difference in price is invoiced (upgrade) or credited (downgrade) as appropriate.
What happens to your data
Plan changes on WebFulHost don't wipe anything — your files, databases, email and settings carry over as part of the move. The only things to revisit are limits: a downgrade means tighter caps, so a quick tidy of old backups and large files avoids surprises.
Billing details
Upgrades are invoiced for the price difference for your remaining billing period. Downgrades issue a credit toward your account (or a refund to the payment method, per the money-back guarantee arrangement). Your invoice list reflects each step — see How to View Your Invoices.
