How WebFulHost Backups Work

What WebFulHost’s automated backups include, how often they run, where they’re kept and what to do if you need one restored.

Backups are the reason a disaster on your website — a bad plugin update, a deleted folder, a ransomware scramble — becomes a twenty-minute detour instead of a catastrophe. Here's exactly what WebFulHost provides.

What gets backed up

WebFulHost's automated backups cover your hosting account's core contents:

  • Website files — everything in the hosting directories.
  • Databases — your MySQL databases.
  • Email configuration — mailboxes, forwards, filters and settings (message archives can vary; keep your own copy of anything critical).

How often, and for how long

Backups run daily. On WebFulHost plans the automated backups are typically retained for up to 30 days, so a recent mishap can be rolled back to almost any of the last month's days — exact retention is shown for your plan in the client area.

Backups are not your own records

Automated backups exist to restore your account, not to cover an invoice dispute or a deliberate wipe. If you cancel, back up everything you want first. And because no backup system is guaranteed, the strongest position is your own off-site copies — see How to Create a Manual Backup in cPanel.

Getting your site back

You can restore many things yourself in cPanel (files, databases, mailboxes) using the Backup tools — see How to Restore Your Website From a Backup. A full-account or server-level restore, and restore requests for older retention files, are handled by our support team — submit a ticket with the date and content you need back.
