This guide walks you through restoring website files and databases from WebFulHost’s backups. It assumes you've read the backup basics in How WebFulHost Backups Work.
Restore website files
- Log into cPanel.
- Open Backup (under Files).
- In the Restore section, next to Home Directory, click Restore.
- Choose the date/time from the listed backup points.
- Confirm. cPanel restores your account folders, including public_html, overwriting current files.
Restore a database
- In the same Backup screen, scroll to the Restore Databases section.
- Open the database that needs restoring and choose a backup point.
- Confirm. The database is replaced with the backed-up version.
You can also restore a single MySQL database by importing a previous SQL dump through phpMyAdmin.
Restore email configuration
Mailbox settings and forwarders sit under Email Accounts restore options in the same screen. Message content inside mailboxes isn't always part of the automated snapshots — see the backup policy article above.
When to ask support instead
- You need a restore point older than the retention window shows.
- A whole account failed and the cPanel is unreachable.
- Restore runs but the site still behaves oddly (often a cache or DNS matter — see Website Showing an Old Version).
In those cases, submit a ticket and tell us what, and from when, you need restored.
After you restore
Load your site and test a private page or two. Then re-check the items from What to Check Before Restoring a Backup — a restore that re-imports an outdated login or leaves the site half rebuilt is how mistakes linger.
