cPanel Login Not Working — Fix It

Couldn’t log into cPanel? Check the right URL, username, password and account status.

A cPanel login that fails is usually a wrong URL, username, or password — rarely a real fault. Work through this list and you'll be in within minutes.

1. Are you at the right URL?

The cPanel address for your account is issued in your welcome email and shown in the client area. Note it from there rather than from memory — cPanel URLs aren't impossible to predict, but guessing is how login errors start. If you're unsure where to find it, How to Find Your Hosting Login Details shows every spot it lives.

2. The exact username

cPanel usernames are set when the account is created. Check the welcome email for the exact spelling and case. Don't use your client area email here — cPanel takes the account's username, not an email address.

3. Password trouble

  • Watch for invisible trailing spaces when copy-pasting.
  • Check Caps Lock, and confirm you're not typing the client area password into cPanel (or vice versa).
  • Still failing? Use Forgot your password? on the cPanel login screen — the reset link goes to your account email, and you can also reset the cPanel password from the client area.

4. Is the account itself fine?

Log into the client area and check the service is active — an expired or suspended account blocks cPanel login. If the client area shows the hosting as active but cPanel still refuses, open a ticket: on rare occasions a password or account needs a manual fix on the server.

After a reset, wait a moment

Password changes apply immediately but your mail app or browser may have cached the old attempt. Try a fresh incognito window.
