A custom email address like hello@yourdomain.com looks far more professional than a free Gmail address. Creating one in cPanel takes about a minute.
Before you start
Your domain needs to point at WebFulHost (or already be registered with us). If it's still with another host and old MX records are in place, email for the domain may keep going to the old provider — check nameservers.
How to create the account
- Log into cPanel.
- In the Email section, click Email Accounts.
- Click Create (or + Create Email Account).
- Enter the part before the @ symbol, e.g.
hello, and choose the domain from the dropdown (e.g.@yourdomain.com). - Enter a strong password, or click the generate button and copy the result.
- Set a storage quota — the default is fine for most people; pick a higher one if you send a lot of attachments.
- Click Create. The account appears in your email accounts list.
Tip: use a password phrase you can remember and store in a password manager. At least 12 characters with a mix of letters, numbers and symbols is ideal.
What to do next
- Read or send email straight away via webmail.
- Set the account up in Outlook, your iPhone or Gmail using the email settings guide.
- Add the standard email authentication records so your mail doesn't end up in spam. See Emails Going to Spam.
Managing your accounts
Back on the Email Accounts screen you can change passwords, adjust quotas, delete accounts and check storage. Deleting an account permanently deletes its mail — make sure you don't need the messages first. You can also keep mail flowing with forwarding.
